CEE Chambers Federation

Mission Statement

Welcome to the Federation of Central Eastern European Chambers of Commerce (CEE FedeCham) website, a 501(c)(3) non-profit global organization dedicated to fostering international trade, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Our federation organizes initiatives and events targeted at furthering these aims. The CEE FedeCham develops partnerships and acts as a liaison between local chambers of commerce, bi-national chambers of commerce, business associations, international and local businesses, supporting efforts from embassies, consulates, multilateral organizations, businesses promoting global commerce, and economic, cultural, and social exchange.

  • To promote and encourage business between Central & Eastern Europe, North America, South America and Caribbean.
  • To help companies achieve their objectives, facilitating their entry and development on the both sides of Atlantic
  • To facilitate useful market intelligence, B2B matchmaking, trade shows, networking events and inform them about investment opportunities.
  • To facilitate, promote and protect the concept of chambers of commerce as essential intermediaries between different countries and regions.
  • To create committees based on interest of each chambers members to strengthening existing trade and developing new innovative technologies, promote local manufacturing alliances and facilities, especially between emerging economies.
  • Facilitate and promote 3-D Logistics: financing, legal and distribution partners.
  • To provide a forum where chamber leaders can communicate with each other and collaborate on matters of mutual interest, whether in solving problems or realizing opportunities.
  • Facilitate the role of chambers of commerce as local business support agencies.
  • To encourage chambers of commerce and their members to cooperate in activities of CEE FedeCham.

About CEE

The Federation of Central & Eastern European Chambers of Commerce, Inc. (FedeCham) is a nonfor-profit, non-political, non-governmental organization, representing the interest of chambers of commerce, business organizations as well as enterprises from all economic sectors and industries of Central & Eastern Europe.

THE ROLE OF FEDECHAM IS

  • To facilitate, promote and protect the concept of chambers of commerce as essential intermediaries between different countries and regions.

FEDECHAM's MEMBER COUNTRIES (CEE20)
FedeCham initiative comprises of twenty Central and Eastern European countries (CEE20). This includes Poland, Hungary, Romania, Greece, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Ukraine, Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro, Moldova, Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Belarus and Albania. The founders of this initiative are from: Poland, Hungary Romania.

VISEGRAD GROUP (V4)
Four of its member countries: Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary, are into a cultural and political alliance known as the Visegrad Group or Visegrad Four (V4 Group) since 1991 and they enter together in European Union.

NATO
14 countries of CEE20 are also member countries of NATO: Albania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Romania Slovakia and Slovenia. 2023 New members: Finland & Sweden.

3 SEAS INITIATIVE - INTERMARIUM
Another regional alliance is the INTERMARIUM, which is Poland and Croatia Initiative, founded in Dubrovnik in August 2016. In addition to Poland and Croatia, members presently include Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, and Slovenia.

This Three Seas Initiative span the space between Baltic, Adriatic and Black seas and one of its main purpose is to better integrate common infrastructure projects north-south in the new EU states of Central Europe. This initiative has high support of current US government.

Interestingly, seven member countries of this project, Hungary, Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania, were part of the Intermarium plan of Jozef Pilsudski of Poland, who proposed a federation of Baltic States after the end of World War I.
